BOARD MEETING PUBLIC COMMENT REQUEST INFORMATION:
Junaluska Sanitary District Board meets the 3rd Thursday of each month. On occasion a monthly Board Meeting will have to be rescheduled to another day of the month due to Board Members schedules. In this event, all rescheduled Board Meetings will be posted on our website.
In order for a customer to be added to the agenda for a public comment, this request form must be completed and submitted to the office at least 10 business days prior to the Board Meeting. For requests that come in after 10 business days, if the agenda for that month is full then the request will be added to the following month’s agenda.
Each customer is allowed 3 minutes to address the Board. The Board will make note of the information presented and address the matter in future business. If follow up is required, the Board will respond through the staff prior to or at the next Board Meeting.

Pursuant to NCGS 130A-47, et seq., Junaluska Sanitary District (JSD) holds a public comment period for zoning and notice of new or increased charges or rates applicable solely to the construction of development subject to Part 2 of Article 19 of Chapter 160A or Part 2 of Article 18 of Chapter 153A, for review and adoption of the District’s annual budget, and for certain projects or businesses of the District as required by the Local Government Commission. When a public hearing is required, JSD will post such information on its website. Under North Carolina law for Meetings of Public Bodies, JSD is not required to allow for public comment during board meetings, however the governing board wishes to provide a process to hear from its customers. Should you desire to address the governing board, please submit a request form to be placed on the next available agenda.
The November 21, 2024 Board Meeting time has been changed from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.
The December 19, 2024 Board Meeting has been changed to Monday, December 2nd at 8:00am.
